This location is temporarily closed due to COVID-19

In the mountains of Montezuma, New Mexico, hides a sanctuary for light. You read that right – The Dwan Light Sanctuary is a meditative space on an international college campus. The space was built specifically for relaxing and escaping everyday anxieties. Artist Virginia Dwan created the sanctuary in 1996 with the intention of helping students and the public reach a state of peace in a space designed to calm. The sanctuary is free for everyone and is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, unless otherwise noted. Visitors must check in at the campus entrance and from there will be given directions to the sanctuary parking lot. For the best experience, plan your trip on the sunniest day possible and plan to spend plenty of time in this unique space.
